I dont have that many Dead shows, but I just downloaded this one. I cant tell if it is the best ever.... but St. Stephen > Morning Dew is some of the kindest music I ever heard. :-)

5-8-77, is considered by many heads to be \the one\, and no doubt the boys were on fire that night (heck - i dont even mind donna\s screeching). but the real gem is the night before in boston. a great wheel, terrapin, estimated,...... it goes on and on. the band really cooked back to back nights. what i would love is for you to play 5/7/77 and 5/8/77 back to back. in fact, that whole 77 tour is mind blowing

I agree the whole 77 tour was incredible, i was reading the show comments for this show on deadamp and people were actually complaining that jerry\s solo in NFA is too long and self-indulgent... they must be listening to a different show than we are, i think it rocks!!!!! Peace

We were next to the stage on Jerry's side (always on Jerry's side), so incredably close, nothing between him and my wife and I. It was so special being that close in and of itselt. But it was a special, special/great show

Funny to hear someone pitch the previous night in Boston (which was certainly a great show) because I always was partial to the following night in Buffalo! Hey Pete J, did you make it to 5/8/77? --Guy

this is one of the greatist shows the dead has ever played. For some reason, everything clicked musically for them. Definitly worth hearing over and over again.

I attended this show with a >bunch of classmates from Hamilton College. Our drive back was smack in the >middle of a blizzard on the NYS thruway (in May!!). 3 or 4 of us crammed >into the back of a Pinto wagon. Don't know how we did it. 4 hours. And >funny thing was, I had slept on the frat house verandah roof the night >before. Don't remember much about the show, though.

Have a Grateful Day!
